Argent Strategic Intelligence

Argent Strategic Intelligence: Master Control System, by Nyedis

A denied request with zero provider calls and zero dollars spent.

A contractor quits. His five AI agents keep working. Watch what Argent does next.

It is the control point that sits between every AI agent and the AI it talks to, so a company can see every agent, prove every decision with signed evidence, and stop anything it did not approve.

Four things go wrong when AI agents run loose. Customer data leaves through an agent. A regulator asks which agent did what, and nobody can say. An agent keeps running after its owner has left. A bill climbs every hour, and nobody owns it. Argent closes all four.

In plain words

AI agent
Software that acts on its own using an AI model.
Coding agent
The same, inside a developer's tools (Claude Code, Codex, Cursor).
Machine identity
The account an agent runs as.
MCP
The standard way agents call tools.
RAG
An agent searching company documents.
A2A
Agents messaging each other.

Six areas of control

Six areas. Argent covers all six.

Mark the areas your company already handles today. Whatever is left becomes your shortlist for the demo.

Know who acted

What goes wrongA contractor quits, his agents keep running, and nobody can say which agent did what.

What Argent doesEvery agent has a named human owner pulled from your login system. When that person leaves or is switched off, the agent’s very next request is blocked. All your agents show on one screen, by name, with a dollar tag.

Watch this part of the film (01:20)

Protect company data

What goes wrongCustomer files, secrets and source code get sent to an AI nobody approved.

What Argent doesArgent reads every outgoing message and replaces Social Security numbers, card numbers, API keys, source code and your own secret formulas with placeholders before the AI sees them. The answer coming back is scanned too.

Watch this part of the film (01:49)

Limit access

What goes wrongAn agent reaches a tool, a document or another agent it was never meant to touch.

What Argent doesAgents call only the tools you approved: reading a file yes, deleting your code never. Document search returns only what the person behind the agent may read. Messages between agents follow the same rules, and the default answer is no.

Watch this part of the film (03:14)

Protect credentials

What goes wrongA real provider key sits in an agent’s settings, leaks, and runs up charges nobody can trace.

What Argent doesPeople and agents never hold real provider keys. They sign in to Argent, which adds the real key from your own vault. Argent holds a path to the secret, never the secret itself.

Watch this part of the film (03:23)

Control the bill

What goes wrongAgents nobody owns spend a little more every hour.

What Argent doesEvery company, department, person and agent gets a dollar limit. Argent holds the money up front, settles the real cost after, forecasts when a team will run out, and stops a runaway loop at the cap: $25, not $25,000.

Watch this part of the film (02:13)

Check the evidence

What goes wrongA regulator, board or court asks which agent did what, on whose authority, and when.

What Argent doesEvery allow, deny, redact and quarantine is a signed, chained record in a write-once archive. A separate program verifies the whole chain offline, and builds an evidence bundle for your SOC 2 auditor in under 30 seconds.

Watch this part of the film (03:49)

Argent covers all six, and signs every decision.

How one request flows

26 checks. 33 steps. One request.

  1. An agent (Claude Code, Codex, Cursor, a document-search pipeline, another agent) sends a request with its Argent key.
  2. The request reaches the checkpoint. If the checking chain is down, the request is refused.
  3. Who is this agent, and which human owns it?
  4. Is it quarantined, capped or over budget?
  5. Does your policy allow it, and is the tool or model approved?
  6. May the human behind it see these documents?
  7. The real key is added from your vault, and private data is masked.
  8. Does the prompt look like an attack? The decision is signed into the ledger.
  9. Only a request that survives every check reaches the AI provider. A denial returns immediately and the provider is never called.
  10. On the way back the answer is scanned for private data, checked for harmful commands, fenced if it carries untrusted content, and recorded. Token usage is captured for cost.
  • < 100 msPolicy decides on every request, in the line of traffic.
  • 26Distinct checks on every request, in 33 steps.
  • 30 sTo build a SOC 2 evidence bundle for an auditor.
  • 0Phone-home. No internet and no API keys needed at runtime; runs fully air-gapped, even on your own models.
A support ticket with sensitive values replaced by placeholders.

Interactive walkthrough

Walk through Argent

A narrated walkthrough of Argent in three parts: the product, one request through all 51 checks, and where it runs on Kubernetes or Docker Compose. About 13 minutes, and it plays right in your browser on desktop or phone.

Every control, explained

Everything Argent controls

The checkpoint
Every agent request passes through one enforcement point. If the checker is down, traffic is refused, never waved through.
A human owner for every agent
Every agent resolves to a living, named human owner pulled from your login system. When that person leaves or is switched off, the agent's very next request is blocked. An agent nobody owns never gets in.
Your policies, on every request
Your own rules decide allow or deny on every request in under 100 milliseconds. Built-in Open Policy Agent, or bring your own decision engine. Fails closed.
Document access that follows the person
When an agent searches company documents it only gets what the human behind it may read. An error returns nothing, never the whole library.
Real keys stay in your vault
People and agents never hold real provider keys. They sign in to Argent, which adds the real key from your own vault.
Approved tools only
Agents may call only the tools you approved: reading a file yes, deleting your code never. Default deny.
Agent-to-agent rules
Messages between agents are governed the same way: every capability needs a scope, default deny.
Private data never leaves
Argent reads every outgoing message. Social Security numbers, card numbers, API keys, source code and your own secret formulas become placeholders before the AI sees them, and the AI's answer is scanned too. If the scanner is unreachable the request is denied.
Trick and jailbreak defense
Scores prompts and replies for jailbreaks and 'ignore all previous instructions' tricks.
Evidence that shows tampering
Every allow, deny, redact and quarantine is a signed, hash-chained record, written to a write-once archive (7 years by default). Even an admin reading saved prompts is logged and security is alerted.
Auditors verify on their own
A separate program re-verifies the whole chain without trusting the gateway that wrote it, even on an air-gapped machine. Auditors get their own view and one-click reports.
A dollar limit for everyone
Every company, organization, department, person and agent gets a dollar limit. Argent holds the money up front and settles the real cost after. An emergency cap stops a runaway loop: twenty-five dollars, not twenty-five thousand. It forecasts when a team runs out, lets a manager approve more with an audit trail, and swaps requests to approved cheaper models so work does not stop.
Hidden instructions cannot take over
Text fetched from outside (web pages, files, tool results) is wrapped in markers tied to a one-time code so instructions hidden inside it cannot take over the agent.
One screen for all of it
Every agent, live, by name, with a dollar tag. Open one request and see every check it passed. Quarantine blocks an agent until released, cap limits spend, kill cuts access.

More about Adam

Executive, product builder, author

More than 25 years in technology, including over two decades securing enterprise identities and critical infrastructure, together with firsthand experience developing AI systems and turning complex technical capabilities into business solutions.

Building Nyedis

As CEO, Adam leads company strategy, product direction, enterprise relationships, and the team and operating discipline required to execute. His thesis: AI security cannot be treated solely as a question of what a model says. It must also address who or what is acting, whose authority it is using, which systems it can reach, what information it can access, and whether an organization can intervene before an action becomes a business incident.

Turning the vision into a product

Adam is driving the development of Argent as a central control layer for enterprise AI, governing interactions among models, agents, tools, credentials and enterprise data. Under his product direction it covers agent identity and lifecycle management, permission-aware data retrieval, credential brokering, defenses against malicious instructions, data-loss prevention, spending controls, audit evidence, and emergency shutdown.

Where the stakes are real

At Oracle he supported identity infrastructure across federal and Department of Defense environments, including security hardening, vulnerability remediation, and disaster-recovery arrangements involving AWS GovCloud. At Cincinnati Children's Hospital he was responsible for an identity-modernization project and its team from initial delivery planning through final sign-off.

An advisor from boardroom to build team

At Johnson & Johnson he delivered AI capability and security seminars and working sessions for technical teams and members of the Worldwide AI Council. For UniFirst he helped establish AI infrastructure and secure development workflows; for Las Vegas Sands he facilitated planning around worst-case AI-enabled cyberattacks. At Discover he led a privileged-access assessment spanning seven vendors, and at JPMorgan Chase he led a team through a cloud API-gateway migration to production.

A builder across technology shifts

His AI experience predates his work on enterprise AI governance, and his product work spans cloud-native applications, serverless media-processing systems and digital identity products. More recently he has developed tools for persistent agent sessions, remote approvals, task coordination, human review and validation, plus agent workflows for research, onboarding and business-process automation.

Author, educator, and industry voice

He hosts the Nyedis Anarchy Series, is a member of the Forbes Technology Council, and has joined industry conversations with KuppingerCole on digital identity. Under the IDM Rockstar name he published free identity-management tutorials, and earlier gave lectures on wireless security and hardening for universities and corporations. His roots reach back to early-1990s bulletin-board culture and The Crypt. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Computer Networking and Japanese Linguistics from Eastern Michigan University.

AI's Dark Side, and the Last Human Defense

By Adam Callen

5.0on Amazon5 ratings

The first continuous history of the AI security war, told one true story at a time, from each breakthrough to the breach that followed it.

The deepfaked video call that walked roughly $25 million out of a global firm while every "executive" on the screen was a forgery. The nation-states already inside the wire. The attack that, by 2027, needs no human hand at all. Every defense you rely on can be handed to a machine. Except one.

  • One continuous narrative, from a 2012 experiment to autonomous attacks in 2027. History, not guesswork.
  • Every threat is a true story, then a defense: concrete, vendor-neutral, and honest about what it will and won't stop.
  • You learn how AI really works, and what is happening behind the walls of the frontier labs, the nation-states, and the enterprises racing each other.
  • A bound-in field manual, The Enterprise AI Defense Reference, to keep on the desk.

Written for the CISO and the CIO, and clear enough for anyone who depends on them.

"I've spent 20 years deploying enterprise technology—from IAM platforms to cloud migrations. Claude Code is the most transformative tool I've seen since Kubernetes, but only if you deploy it right. Most teams are using it like a fancy autocomplete. This workshop shows you how to turn it into an enterprise-grade development platform with the security, governance, and scale your organization demands."
